Malagousia

The Terre de Zeus Malagousia is a wonderful example of classy, modern Greek winemaking.  Certified Organic, this enticing white wine comes from a 16 hectare, family owned vineyard that sits between 100 and 400 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Olympus in Macedonia.  Refreshing and juicy, this dry white has notes of peach and nectarine with crisp citrus tinged, and slightly saline acidity.  There's also a lovely vein of minerality running through the wine that keeps it focussed.

Viognier

The Age of Grace Viognier is a beautifully balanced, barrel fermented white wine from the cool climate vineyards of the Cape South Coast.  Gentle, whole bunch pressing and slow extraction helps maintain the character and quality of the juice.  The wine is settled for 48 hours before 70% being racked into seasoned 225 litre French Oak barrels, the remainder into concrete egg for fermentation and ageing 10 months.

The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir is warm and medium-bodied, with a firm acid structure. Its bright black cherry fruit is juicy, ripe, and forward, with a spicy mid-palate and lingering finish. The Lo & Behold white is very grown up for such a humble price tag.  Made from 90% Chenin Blanc, 10% of which is aged in french oak, the remainder naturally fermented in stainless steel, plus 10% Viognier that is fermented in cement tanks.  The wine is blended before bottling, resulting in a fresh and vibrant wine with citrus and pear fruit alongside more tropical notes.  The finish is long and balanced and leaves one wanting more!

Jean-Christophe Bott is heir to the family tradition dating back to 1795, when his ancestor, Jean-Martin Geyl tended his vines and made his wine. Jean-Christophe Bott has been responsible for Domaine Bott-Geyl since 1993 and he converted the vineyards to be organic in 2000 and then biodynamic in 2002.  In the vineyards he concentrates on low yields and in the cellars he oversees the vinification in the most natural and minimalist manner to produce wines with precise varietal character.
