The Levasseur vineyards are organically farmed and certified for their high environmental value, and produce a mere 30,000 bottles per year. The Noir de Terroir is made with 100% Pinot Noir and shows distinctive Strawberry, redcurrant and Nectarine fruit on the nose. The complex palate is well-structured with a fine mousse and long finish. This is outstanding grower champagne and highlights what fantastic value you ccan get when you stray from the well-trodden path of the bigger houses.

Gilles Remoriquet is forever looking for ways to improve the wines from his 12.5 hectare sustainably farmed domaine. Whether that means a dedicated trip the Jura to see a specialist about selecting the right blend of manure, or investing in a second sorting table which eliminates under-ripe berries by flotation, he is not one to rest on his laurels. Cuvaisons in concrete vats are long, giving a light colour yet concentrated with elegant fruit flavours. Wines are fermented with natural yeasts and never see more than 30% new oak, allowing the fruit to shine through.

The Seven of Hearts Special Reserve Pinot Noir is a blend which highlights the highly diverse characteristics from several distinct sections of the Pinot Noir vineyard at Yamhill Carlton. The intention being to make as layered, complete and complex Pinot as possible. The 2019 is the first release since 2015 and with a tiny production of only 49 cases we are very lucky to have been able to get our hands on some. One quarter of the wine goes in to new French oak with the remainder seeing a mixture second, third and fourth fill oak for balance. Fruit, spice and texture are all in perfect harmony in this wonderfully expressive Oregon Pinot Noir. Grab it while you can!

Fournillon have 23 hectares of vines in Chablis in the cool, north of burgundy and are predominantly producers of classic, steely Chablis (see our fantastic value 'house' Chablis), but they also produce some red and this delicious cremant from 100% Pinot Noir. All fruit is hand-harvested and vinified carefully to produce an easy drinking, fruit-forward fizz that is well balanced and nicely rounded with a fine mousse. Excellent as an apertif.

Ageing takes place in a mixture of stainless steel (80%) and French oak (20%) for 10 months prior to bottling.

The Bourgogne Pinot Noir Epineuil from Domaine Fournillon is a beautifully fresh Pinot with bright, red fruit flavours and supple tannins. This delightful red wine comes from parcels of vines in the village of Epineuil, with the majority of Pinot Noir grapes are harvested mechanically for efficiency so they can be transported to the estate for maceration in stainless steel tank for a period of 2 weeks, with regular punch downs. After separating the skins from the juice it is aged in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of 15 months.
