The Quinta do Noval 2009 Colheita has a lovely amber colour with a dark tawny core. Very intense and concentrated on the nose, it offers a harmonious mix of nuts and spice aromas. Liquorice notes come together with toasted almond and younger fruity flavours on the palate, joined by citrus notes combined with its freshness and velvety texture giving a rich lively wine. This 2009 Colheita is wonderful and seductive with a long finish.

The 2017 Vintage Port, Eirados has plenty of rich and jammy fruit added to this wine making it enjoyable in it's youth but there are also some good, firm tannins suggesting that there is plenty of development to come.  This is great value from a smaller Port House in an amazing vintage that has produced sublimely balanced, long loving wines.

2019 Vintage Port, Niepoort, Douro Valley

The 2019 Niepoort Vintage Port has a brilliant appearance with a dark purple rim and concentrated depth of colour. The aroma is fine and subdued with only a hint of primary dark fruits and some spice. The true potential and style of this wine really comes together on the palate with wonderful integration of dark fruits with a grainy tannic structure, pairing volume with amazing balance and elegance and an impressive finish. In conclusion, the primary fruit on the palate is appealing at this stage, but it’s the balanced tannic structure which indicates great ageing potential for the future.

This beautiful Douro Tinto from Quinta Nova is completely unoaked and displays bags of clean, unadulterated fruit, minerality from the schist soils and a lovely vein of fresh acidity.  Medium bodied with a wealth of red berry fruit and violet floral notes, the rounded, generous palate is approachable and soft - a characteristic not always found in Douro reds.  The lack of oak allows the natural minerality to shine through and help keep the wine fresh.  Perfect for barbecue meats or pasta with tomato based sauces.

The Eirados label is made by Quinta Santa Eufemia and this Ruby Port is everything you would expect from a 5th generation producer. Rich dark and red fruits, nicely integrated alcohol and well-balanced finish.  This port is foot trodden and aged in large oak barrels for 4 years before release.
