Description

The Beaumont Chenin Blanc is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Dry, fresh and delicious!  Although very approachable in it’s youth, the Beaumont Chenin, as with many other good South African Chenin Blancs, has teh ability to age for many years.  It’s a great value wine to stock up on and see how it develops.

2019 Manda Chuva, Vinho Regional Peninsula de Setubal

Sercial

On the nose the Manda Chuva frmo Heredade de Portocarro is very mineral-like with saline tinges and white fleshed fruits. The palate is imposing, assertive and has superb minerality.  This complex white wine will continue to develop with a few years in bottle, but whilst young taking a sip is just like taking a dip in the Atlantic!

Bordeaux Blanc Saransot Dupre.JPG

2019 Bordeaux Blanc Sec, Chateau Saransot-Dupre

Semillon/Sauvignon

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
