Description
The Kloovenburg Village Red is a juicy, approachable blend of 59% Grenache, 32% Syrah, 14% Garnacha Peluda and 5% Mouvedre made by the talented Duncan Stuart. Slight hints of oak compliment the bramble, strawberry and white pepper notes. Terrific value, this is a must try for any Rhone Ranger looking to dip their toes in the sea of South African wines.
Made from hand-harvested fruit and fermented with natural yeast in open top fermenters. Malolactic fermentation takes place in neutral oak barrels and the wine is aged for 10 months in barrel following racking and a minimal dose of sulphur.

They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic 'Galet' pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape. As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.
