Georgia is considered to be the ‘cradle of wine', as 8,000 year-old indigenous Rkatsiteli grape seeds have been found in clay vessels. Vachnadziani was established in 1953and is one of the oldest wineries in Georgia. With over 1,000 hectares of vineyard, covering the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia and the Imereti, Racha and Lechkhumi regions in western Georgia, Vachnadziani cultivates 25 vine varieties - the majority of which are indigenous. Theirexciting and dynamic range reveals all the charm of this historic winemaking land.

Superb value, the Scheid District 7 Chardonnay comes from a vineyard at Greenfeld where the morning fog lingers to protect the vines from the heat of the sun. The aromas are fresh and extroverted with notes of yellow apple, pear and citrus, enhanced by hints of coconut, vanilla and toasty oak. The medium-bodied palate is soft and balanced with bright fruit, hints of butter and a lingering subtle oak finish.

This is serious stuff from Fabiano with youthful Valpolicella being passed over the pressings left from the Amarone fermentation, resulting in a wine that has a wonderful balance of freshness and concentration with vibrant cherry fruit and rich, raisiny structure and firm drying tannins.

The beautifully generous nose shows apple, apricot, lychee and pear with the palate following suit with masses of beautifully fresh, vibrant and zingy fruit; notably apples, lemons and blackcurrants at their mouth-watering best.  Gorgeous to drink on its own but with a weight of fruit that makes it an excellent match for food.

This superb Albarino comes form a small 4.5 hectare property set in Val do Salnes in the heart of Rias Baixas.  All work is carried out by hand giving a wine with character, concentration and a true sense of place.  This elegant Albarino has the typical minerality one would expect alongside delicate stone fruit and citrus notes.  The finish is clean, crisp and dry with loveley texture courtesy of ageing on fine lees.

This lovely Cotes du Rhone is a blend of Stephane Ogier's Rasteau and Cairanne vineyard and displays the typical elegance all his wines posess.  60% Grenache and 40% Syrah make up the blend and provide a medium to full bodied wine that is packed with plummy, herbal tinged fruit and beautifully poised acidity. Although this is approachable now with a decent decant, waiting until 2026/2027 will pay dividends and the wine should drink beautifully through to 2033.
