This terrific Montepulciano from Tenuta Ulisse is one of a string of exemplary red wines produced there.  We wish we could stock them all, but space only permits one so we plumped for the Ulisse Montepulciano. Bold yet approachable and superbly balanced, this red wine is packed with ripe blackberry and dark cherry fruits alongside elegant floral notes and whiffs of vanilla and tobacco.

Domaine Christelle Greffet is a small, traditional estate situated in Solutre-Pouilly and is worked by hand by the 4th generation.  This beautiful Pouilly Fuisse sees a traditional fermentation and ageing in oak Tuns.  The oak imparts texture as opposed to inherently oaky characteristics, resulting in a wonderful Burgundy with some depth and richness alongside the flinty freshness and notes of honey.

Georgia is considered to be the ‘cradle of wine', as 8,000 year-old indigenous Rkatsiteli grape seeds have been found in clay vessels. Vachnadziani was established in 1953and is one of the oldest wineries in Georgia. The 2024 Tierhoek Chardonnay is made in collaboration with Hamilton Russell winemaker Emul Ross and is the first non Hamilton Russell wine to be made in the cellars (we think).  Produced from 20 year old vines that are starting to show their true potential, this fabulous Chardonnay is fermented in a mixture of seasoned French oak and terracotta eggs, before being transferred into barrel and amphora for ageing.

Vermentino

The Notteri is a terrific example of Vermentino di Sardegna. Made with free run juice that is fermented at cool temperatures before resting on it's fine lees for 60 days.  The result is a wine which shows an intense nose that is fresh with stone fruit and floral notes.  The palate is soft and dry with more intensity and finishing on a pleasing bitter note.  This elegant white is a terrific wine to be enjoyed with seafood, especially shellfish, and lighter mediterranean starters.

2025 Grolleau Gris, Domaine du Haut Bourg, Val du Loire

Grolleau Gris

Domaine du Haut Bourg are primarily Muscadet producers based in the Grandlieu appelation south of Nantes.  The brothers Nicholas and Herve also plant a range of other varieties includung Gamay, Sauvignon and Grolleau Gris. The proximity of the Atlantic and also the Lac du Grandlieu to the low lying vineyards allow for an early harvest which helps keep the wines spritely, fresh and characterful.  Terrifically put together, this is a great wine to try if you fancy a change from Sauvignon Blanc, melon, lychee and stone fruit with zippy, fresh acidity on the lively finish.
