Description
Duncan Savage is responisble for some of South Africa’s most sought after wines. The wines are usually made with minimal intervention from exceptional parcels of grapes and are elegant, sophisticated and above all, hugely drinkable. Here’s a few expert reviews:
“A parcel planted in 1982 that faces south into the prevailing wind is the source of this graceful, ethereal Darling Cinsault with one of my favourite labels. Delicate, floral and enticing, it has rose petal and potpourri aromas, subtle spices from 50% whole bunches and succulent goji berry and wild strawberry flavours. 2024-29” – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2023, 96/100
“Got plenty of cellar attention: ferment in foudre & open fermenters, 50% wholebunch, skin contact, 10 months in older foudre & barrels. Yet 2022’s fruit is there: red berries, lightly spice-dusted, white pepper, the svelte structure showcasing varietal typicity, with juicy freshness, amenable tannins. Cinsault taken to a higher level.” – Platter’s Guide, 5* (95/100)
