2022 Cremant de Bourgogne Brut, Domaine Fournillon

Pinot Noir

Fournillon have 23 hectares of vines in Chablis in the cool, north of burgundy and are predominantly producers of classic, steely Chablis (see our fantastic value 'house' Chablis), but they also produce some red and this delicious cremant from 100% Pinot Noir.  All fruit is hand-harvested and vinified carefully to produce an easy drinking, fruit-forward fizz that is well balanced and nicely rounded with a fine mousse.  Excellent as an apertif.

This Macon Chaintre is lovely and bright in the glass, with a fresh, floral bouquet that leads to citrus fruits on the palate and a fine, mineral tinged finish.  Great value and a true crowd pleaser for Burgundy fans thanks to its structure and finesse.

2023 Rully Rouge Chaponniere, Domaine Belleville

Pinot Noir

The Rully Rouge Chaponniere from Belleville is such a pretty wine, showing lovely fresh strawberry and raspberry fruit on the nose, followed by smoky secondary aromas.  Fruit forward and delicate on the palate, there is a satisfying complexity with good ageing potential.

The Domaine Billard Aligote is crisp and fresh with lots up front citrus fruit backed up by subtle stone fruit flavours.  The palate is taut and refreshing yet has a softness to the long mineral-tinged finsh.
