Description
This wonderful Pouilly Fume shows great intensity and manages to balance richness with finesse on the fresh, complex palate. Just starting to show well now, this cracking Pouilly Fume will continue to develop for years to come.
Established in 1770, Domaine Guyon-Barillot is a historic family estate nestled in the heart of Pouilly-Fumé, Loire Valley, encompassing 11 hectares of old vines, some up to 70 years in age. This remarkable terroir, rich in limestone and flint (silex), imparts the distinct minerality and aromatic precision that define the estate’s wines. As an early pioneer of modern vinification, Domaine Guyon-Barillot was among the first in the region to adopt temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Today, they incorporate egg-shaped tanks into select blends, enhancing the wine’s aromatic complexity and finesse.
