Description
The 2024 Tierhoek Chardonnay is made in collaboration with Hamilton Russell winemaker Emul Ross and is the first non Hamilton Russell wine to be made in the cellars (we think). Produced from 20 year old vines that are starting to show their true potential, this fabulous Chardonnay is fermented in a mixture of seasoned French oak and terracotta eggs, before being transferred into barrel and amphora for ageing.
Still young, but showing nicely now, this beautiful wine will continue to age gracefully for years and we can only urge you to grab some whilst it’s available.

2023 Hartenberg Riesling, Stellenbosch
Riesling
The Hartenberg Riesling is planted on clay-rich soils and harvested entirely by hand. With 25% of the grapes showing signs of Botrytis at harvest time, this wine boasts stone fruit aromas, honeyed petrol notes, lanolin and a vibrant acidity. The bouquet displays beautiful elements of chalky, flint and minerally notes. The wine is juicy and opulent on palate entry and then a fine acidity arrives to provide a perfect foil to the inherent fruit “sweetness”. Despite being bone dry,the wine finishes with an appealing sweet/sour character, begging a second taste.
