Vermentino
The Notteri is a terrific example of Vermentino di Sardegna. Made with free run juice that is fermented at cool temperatures before resting on it's fine lees for 60 days. The result is a wine which shows an intense nose that is fresh with stone fruit and floral notes. The palate is soft and dry with more intensity and finishing on a pleasing bitter note. This elegant white is a terrific wine to be enjoyed with seafood, especially shellfish, and lighter mediterranean starters.

When Joseph Bou Sleiman took over the reins at Château Oumsiyat, he blended respect for local tradition with modern techniques to craft contemporary wines. A passionate vine grower, Joseph also built a modern winery in the village of Mtein, where he creates wines that are a fusion of old world and new world . The grapes are grown in the 78 hectare vineyard, situated at over 1,000 metres elevation in the beautiful Bekaa Valley, between Mount Lebanon to the west and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains to the east.

This terrific Godello from Bodegas y Vinedos Merayo is great value. Delicate and pale yellow in the glass with an intense nose of green apple and stone fruit and traces of citrus and fennel. Minerality lends the wine a further degree of complexity. The palate is generous and rounded, without ever losing the sensation of freshness with notes of citrus, green apple, and minerality. The texture from lees ageing is apparent in the lovely mouthfeel, enveloping the wine and giving it a rich, slightly sweet feeling of overall harmony.

Domaine du Haut Bourg are primarily Muscadet producers based in the Grandlieu appelation south of Nantes. The brothers Nicholas and Herve also plant a range of other varieties includung Gamay, Sauvignon and Grolleau Gris. The proximity of the Atlantic and also the Lac du Grandlieu to the low lying vineyards allow for an early harvest which helps keep the wines spritely, fresh and characterful. Terrifically put together, this is a great wine to try if you fancy a change from Sauvignon Blanc, melon, lychee and stone fruit with zippy, fresh acidity on the lively finish.

With 25% of the grapes showing signs of Botrytis at harvest time, this wine boasts stone fruit aromas, honeyed petrol notes, lanolin and a vibrant acidity. The bouquet displays beautiful elements of chalky,flint and minerally notes.The wine is juicy and opulent on palate entry and then a fine acidity arrives to provide a perfect foil to the inherent fruit “sweetness”. Precise and finishing with a thirst-quenching saline burst, the Salt River Sauvignon Blanc is delicious on release but will also age gracefully for a few years.
