Jean-Christophe Bott is heir to the family tradition dating back to 1795, when his ancestor, Jean-Martin Geyl tended his vines and made his wine. Jean-Christophe Bott has been responsible for Domaine Bott-Geyl since 1993 and he converted the vineyards to be organic in 2000 and then biodynamic in 2002.  In the vineyards he concentrates on low yields and in the cellars he oversees the vinification in the most natural and minimalist manner to produce wines with precise varietal character.

2023 Viognier ‘Les Contours de Deponcin’, Francois Villard

This amazing Viognier from Francois Villard has a pale yellow-gold hue in the glass, and offers powerful aromas of peach, apricot, honeysuckle, and orange blossom on the nose. The palate delivers typically rich, fleshy stone-fruit flavours with a compelling mineral streak, balanced by lively acidity and a subtle salinity that lingers beautifully. Chenin Blanc

Produced from several vineyards with Silex (flint) soils, this delicious Vouvray is pale yellow with a very reserved nose. The palate is dominated by minerals, with citrus, apple and lemon peel fruit. Floral aromas balance out the minerality with some lovely balanced acidity coming through on the finish.

The Macabeu grapes for this lively and fresh white are harvested very early to preserve the freshness and delicate characteristics of the grape.  It is lively and elegant with pear, citrus and passion fruit on the nose.  The palate is lively and fresh too with more pear and citrus fruits along with a floral, Bergamot tinged touch.  This spritely and fresh white doesn't have any sulphur added during the whole winemaking process - Different and delicious!

Domaine de la Bretonniere have been making wine in the Loire for generations.  With an utmost respect for the environment and meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard they are able to produce vibrant, crisp wines with lovely pure fruit and crisp, balanced acidity.  The Cap A l'Ouest Sauvignon is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris and has a bright, pale yellow appearance with golden reflections. The intense bouquet of flowers and lychee follow through to the generous palate that manages to be powerful and fruit-forward whilst retaining freshness and zip with long lasting acidity.

2024 Côtes du Rhône ‘Le Temps est Venu’, Stephane Ogier, AOC

Rhone Blend

This lovely Cotes du Rhone is a blend of Stephane Ogier's Rasteau and Cairanne vineyard and displays the typical elegance all his wines posess.  60% Grenache and 40% Syrah make up the blend and provide a medium to full bodied wine that is packed with plummy, herbal tinged fruit and beautifully poised acidity. Although this is approachable now with a decent decant, waiting until 2026/2027 will pay dividends and the wine should drink beautifully through to 2033.

2024 Cotes du Rhone Rouge, Domaine de la Berthete, AC

Rhone Blend

Domaine de la Berthete have made a wonderfully approachable Cotes du Rhone that is packed with the warm, sunny flavours of the pebble strewn vineyards of the Southern Rhone.  50% Grenache and 30% Syrah are blended with a selection of other varieties from vines with an average age of 35 years old.  The result is a tantalising red that shows ripe black fruits, garrigue notes and a waft of spice on the long, satisfying finish.  Not a blockbuster, but packed with flavour, this terrific value red is a great match to roasted red meats.

2024 Cotes Du Rhone, Un Bon Canon

Rhone Blend

The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks.  The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles.  The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.
