2017 Corte Di Cama Sorfzato Di Valtellina
This terrific red comes from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Valtellina Superiore area in the districts of Berbenno, Sondrio, Montagna e Teglio, between 350 and 500 metres above sea level. The best quality grapes are dried for 2 months in the “fruttaio”, a ventilated area on the top floor of the CasaClima Wine cellar.

2018 Vom Kalk, Weingut Weninger, Weinland
The Vom Kalk from Weingut Weninger is a fabulous natural red wine made with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sankt Laurent. After a manual harvest the grapes are destemmed and fermented with ambient yeasts in cement tanks. The wine is then aged in a mixture of cement tanks and 500 litre wooden barrels and bottled without filtration or fining with just a minimum of sulphur.

2019 Pais Salvaje, Bouchon, Maule
Bouchon are 4th generation viticultutralists situated in the Maule Valley. Current incumbent Julio Bouchon and his children carry on the family tradition of creating distinctive, terroir-driven wines. The Pais Salvaje is a wine which celebrates the native grape of Chile which up until relatively recently was considered a workhorse variety tha most wienreis were grubbing up in favout of international varities. This fascinating wine comes from wild Pais vines which have grown unchecked with a wooded area and now requires hand harvesting on ladders, some of which are 5 meters tall.

2019 Vicentino Sunset Red, Alentejano
The Vicentino Sunset Red is a delightful, light to medium bodied red wine made from Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Syrah grapes partially aged in french oak. The vineyards benefit from the warmth of the summer sun as well as the cooling influence of the atlantic sea breezes, giving wines with a lovely depth of fruit that posess freshness and balance too.

2020 ‘O Font’ Les Deux Cols, Vin de France
Les Deux Cols is a joint venture between Ireland's leading Rhone importer, Simon Tyrell and Charles Derain, one time Sommelier to Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Paris. This Grenache Noir dominated blend is whole bunch and foot trodden, natural yeast fermented in concrete tanks and then matured in a mixture of old barriques and larger demi-muid barrels. Pale in the glass, this is fresh and easy with red fruits and a hint of spice. Hand harvesting takes place at least a week earlier than the neighbouring properties allowing for a fresher style, and all vineyards are either organic or in conversion with some biodynamic practices in use.

2020 Trousseau ‘Marnes Rouge’, AC Cotes de Jura
Domaine Badoz are 10th Generation vignerons in the hilly Revermont area of Jura. Benoit is the current Badoz to be at the helm and, since 2003, has really got to grips with the vineyards and wine range. The Monte Luzzo Barbera is another fabulous wine from the fantastic Cantine Povero. A wonderfully clean and pure expression of the grape with fresh cherry, plum and wild berry fruit mingled with hints of violets on the nose along with notes of spice. The palate is beautifully rounded and fresh with an abundance of quaffable fruit. The wine spends 6 months in oak to add texture and roundness rather than imparting oaky characteristics.

2021 Bourgueil, Domaine Des Mailloches
Lively, ruby-red in colour, this wine has a fruity nose with prevailing aromas of red and black fruits. The palate is supple and rich. There's enough acidity and freshness to make this a good match to cooked pork dishes and white meats in general as well as roasts and a simple cheeseboard. 2021 Melting Potes, Domaine Serol, Vin de France
The Melting Potes from Domaine Serol is a delicious blend of Gamay Noir (50%), Syrah (43%) and Grenache (7%), made with a combination of estate fruit and also some from friends of the guys at Domaine Serol. 2021 was a disastrous vintage in France so vignerons had to make the best of a bad situation by finding suitable grapes to make wine from. Certified organic, with 20 - 40% whole bunch fermentation, this is a deliciously refreshing red with a lightness of touch. Easy to drink and hugely enjoyable, Domaine Serol have managed to produce a small amount of wine which displays their winemaking skills even in a tricky year.

2021/22 Villa Wolf Pinot Noir, Pfalz
The Villa Wolf Pinot Noir is warm and medium-bodied, with a firm acid structure. Its bright black cherry fruit is juicy, ripe, and forward, with a spicy mid-palate and lingering finish. A minimum of twelve months of ageing in used French oak barriques gives the wine a smoky depth and a nice touch of earthy tannins. It’s an excellent, approachable red wine for everyday dining.

2022 Amato Rosso, Amato Vino, Margaret River
Amato Vino take a very hands-off approach to winemaking, in favour of wild fermentation, minimal intervention during the winemaking process and gentle handling. Their wines are unfined and unfiltered and represent a different side to Margaret River than one might expect. The delicious Amato Rosso is made from the unusual blend of Teroldego, Primitivo, Cabernet and Chenin Blanc and is bright and juicy with Maraschino Cherry and Raspberry fruit balanced with delightful, lifted acidity. Easy going, fresh and almost dangerously drinkable, this wonderful red is a welcome addition to our list and sure to become a staff favourite before too long!

The Es Fresc is a delightful, light red designed to be drunk chilled on a summers day. The delicate nose shows aromas of ripe red fruits, light notes of coffee, tobacco, cherry and currants. There's also subtle smoky notes from its brief time in oak barrels. The palate is light, sweet and silky in texture.

2022 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire
This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality. A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.
