Recoleta Criolla Grande.JPG

2024 Recoleta Criolla Grande, Mauricio Lorca, Mendoza

Criolla

This delightful red is perfect for lovers of Pinot Noir who are looking for something a little different.  Made from the Criolla Grande grape, the larger berried version of the family, this silky wine has an exotic nose of red fruits and whiffs of turkish delight.  Juicy and fresh on the palate with a lovely rounded texture, this is equally delicious chilled as it is at room temperature.  A great all-rounder and lovely for spring/summer drinking.

Corvina

The Cuvee XV Bardolino from Guerrieri Rizzardi is a wonderfully approachable, easy drinking red wine made with predominantly Corvina, Rondinella and a splash of Merlot.  The pretty hillside vineyards overlooking Lake Garda produce wonderfully fresh and aromatic wines with elegant red fruits and finely balanced, refreshing acidity.  This delicate red should be enjoyed within a couple of years of the vintage.

Lorca Lo Ancelotta Malbec.JPG

2025 Lorca Lo Ancelotta/Malbec, Mauricio Lorca, Mendoza

Red Blend

It isn't always easy to find decent low alcohol red wines that are truly enjoyable, but we think we've uncovered a little gem with the Lorca Lo.  Made with Ancelotta and Malbec from naturally early ripening vines in eastern Mendoza, this bright and fresh red is packed with crunchy red fruits and is a joy to quaff.  If you're looking for a red that is light in style but doesn't compromise on fruit or structure then you should try this juicy little number.

The ferment is made in stainless steel and the wine bottled after the spring equinox. It is a lightfooted, violet and blackberry infused wine with elements of mineral coolness. A refreshingly breezy and bright Spanish red with notes of sour cherry, raspberry, violets and sweet spice.
