The Medici winery has been producing a top-of-the-range Lambrusco for over a century. It all began with Remigio Medici, who founded a wine cellar in the late 19th century, with the aim of making the most of the family vineyards, which are located between the Via Emilia and the hills of the Enza Valley. Today, the company owns 80 hectares of land covering the finest wine-growing areas in the Emilia-Romagna region. The vineyards are cultivated organically and the three generations of the Medici family follow their ‘Generation 2031’ manifesto, committing to a sustainable future. They follow a philosophy of uncompromising quality, working with yields 30-40% lower than the DOC regulations to produce wines that truly express the Lambrusco variety and the terroir. They have been duly rewarded by superb reviews and awards, including the Tre Bicchieri award from Gambero Rosso, placing Lambrusco among Italy’s top wines.

The Brut Tradition Original 60/40 is made up of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from two vintages which are fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel. It's extremely classy with a great depth of flavour showing apple fritter and brioche with fresh apple and lemon drop charatcters. We are delighted to have these wines on our shelves, and also very lucky seeing as most of the production ends up on the tables of some of France's best Michelin Starred restaurants.

This cuvée has a bright and golden colour. The nose is dominated by the freshness and the fruit. The Chardonnay brings finesse sustained by notes of yellow fruits such as peach and Mirabelle plum. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and generous. The Pinot Noir of Ay gives its structure. Hawthorn and white flowers merge naturally. Acidity is expressed by citrus fruits.
