The Finca Moncloa Tinto is a medium- high intensity with cherry red tones and persistent legs, with intense aromas of ripe red/ black fruits such as blackberry, blueberry and plum. It also carries some floral notes and spice such as black pepper, clove, vanilla and balsamic, whihc intensifies in the glasss. As well as this, you will also fine some fine notes of oak. On the palate it is well balanced with good acidity and a slightly sweet entrance. This is a smooth wine with body and long, round tannins.

We are very excited to welcome the fabulous wines of Bodegas Alegre Valganon to our shelves.  Husband and wife team Eva and Oscar strive to produce wines which hark back to a traditional style of Rioja, pre-dating the arrival of the Bordelais and Phylloxera.  They farm old plots of vines in the shadow of the Obarenes Mountains which are some of the highest and coolest in the region, yielding wines that are refined and aromatic.  Their vineyard plots are managed meticulously and they favour whole bunch fermentation, long macerations and ageing in large, neutral barrels.

The deAlto Rioja Tradicional is fantastic value and is an excellent lead into the great wines of this famous region.  Made from a blend of hand-harvested Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes grown in the finest sites around Azagra in Rioja Baja, this approachable, lightly oaked red is a real treat.  There's a degree of whole bunch fermentation here to keep varietal character in the finished wine.  Red berry fruit with notes of vanilla, mocha and gentle spice, the wine is layered and generous in the mouth with a long, satisfying finish.
