Description
The Macan Clasico is made with 100% Tempranillo from prime vineyard sites in the heart of Rioja. This joint venture between two of the wine world’s greatest names showcases the very best of Rioja. The wine spends 15 months in mostly new very fine and fine grained French oak barrels, the remainder ages in one year old barrels, before resting in bottle until it’s release (Spring 2025).
A spicy, fresh and accessible Macan Clasico that shows tapenade, dark spices, red pepper and black cherries. Plenty of fruit, with a medium body and a round, approachable finish loaded with spiced strawberries and cherries. Tannins have already softened. An elegant and lengthy wine. Drink 2025+
Zekun Shuai, JamesSuckling.com (August 2024)
The fruit rules over the wood. This is the most vibrant Vega Sicilia wine. Sweet tannin, accompanied by hints of violet and the impact of very black fruit with a high level of ripening. Graphite, pink pepper and hints of plum. It’s a little light-hearted for a Vega Sicilia wine. Overall, friendly tannin, ample and very drinkable. The most approachable of Tempos Vega Sicilia’s wines. Drink 2024 – 2035

2018 Brunello di Montalcino Pieve Santa Restituta, Gaja, DOCG
Sangiovese
Gaja's Brunello di Montalcino shows notes of juniper berries, liquorice and sweet wood on the nose. It has a very clear expression of sweet and ripe fruit, opening on the palate, with notes of spice and earthy aromatic herbs. This wine has remarkable texture, mouth-filling fruit and a very good length.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
