Chateau Musar 1998.JPG

1998 Chateau Musar, Bekaa Valley

Cabernet Sauvignon

The 1998 Musar Red is an elegant and fragrant Cinsault dominated vintage, mainly due to the cooler conditions. It shows wonderfully developed gamey aromas, is well structured and  has a vein of finely poised acidity running through it.  Medium bodied with great length.  The vintage was, by Lebanese standards, cold, with rainy weather that lasted until June (resulting in late flowering), leading to a summer that was sunny and dry.

2016 Chateau Musar, Bekaa Valley

Red Blend

The 2016 vintage of Musar is a deep ruby in colour with high viscosity. Red cherries, plums, carob and figs dominate the nose with a hint of eastern spice. Kirsch and plums follow through to the palate with blackcurrant and chocolate. The tannins are velvety soft and this wine has a lot of depth and fruit concentration with a long finish.

The Curator Red Wine Can.JPG

2020 The Curator Red Blend, AA Badenhorst, 250ml Can

Red Blend

Wine in cans makes a lot of sense from an environmental and convenience point of view but we have struggled to find anything we really like, until now!  The Curator Red Blend from Badenhorst is an excellent blend of Cabernet, Shiraz, Cinsault and Grenache which has great fruit, a silky texture and distinct drinkability! Perfect for picnics, festivals or simply when you don't want to open a whole bottle.

Secatuers Red Blend.JPG

2024 Secateurs Red Blend, AA Badenhorst, Swartland

Red Blend

The 2024 Secateurs Red Blend by AA Badenhorst has to be amongst the best he's made.  Adi bought a neighbouring farm that he used to buy grapes from but now has pick of the crop for himself.  There's a hgher proportion of Cabernet in this release than usual, adding more cassis and dark fruit flavours to the mineral tinged spice of the Shiraz. Fuller than normal too, but by no means less approachable, with juicy tannins and terrific balance.
