Description

Wine in cans makes a lot of sense from an environmental and convenience point of view but we have struggled to find anything we really like, until now!  The Curator Red Blend from Badenhorst is an excellent blend of Cabernet, Shiraz, Cinsault and Grenache which has great fruit, a silky texture and distinct drinkability! Perfect for picnics, festivals or simply when you don’t want to open a whole bottle.

2023 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire

Gamay

This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality.  A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.

Bordeaux Blend

This classic Cru Bourgeois is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon selected from the best grapes and oldest vines on the property.  Aged for 12-18 months in oak, this generously fruited with good structure, supple tannins and well balanced finish.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
