Description
The Mason Road GSM is a cracking value red blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mouvedre and Cinsault. This lovely wine shows layers of ripe bramble fruit along with cherry, blackcurrant and plum notes mingling with smoky notes from the oak. Silky, realy well-knit and almost dangerously drinkable.
Each variety is harvested seperately at different times to ensure optimum ripeness, with the Syrah and Grenache whole bunch fermented. The grapes are fermented seperately with natural yeast in open top fermenters and transferred to a mixture of 500 and 300 litre barrels for malolactic fermentation. The individual wines are aged for a further 8 months before blending and bottling.
Grenache 54%, Syrah 33%, Cinsault 8%, Mourvèdre 5%
