The Edgebaston Pepper Pot from David Finlayson wines expertly shows the fruit and spice driven flavours of classic Rhône varietals. The colour is a youthful purple/red and the nose shows crushed black pepper, dark mulberry and mixed berry coulis. A well balanced finish rounds off what is a very popular seller for us.
David Finlayson Wines is situated on 50 acres of South Africa’s finest viticultural real estate in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain. The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks. The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles. The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.

This relatively young family owned Domaine was created in 2001 by vignerons with 4 generations of vinegrowing and winemaking expertise under their belts. They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic 'Galet' pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape. As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.
