Perfectly sited on protected, south-facing, chalk soils, the D'Urberville vineyard produces perfectly ripe grapes for exuberant, fruit led English sparkling wines.  We are proud to represent them and love the fact that it is less than a mile from the shop as the crow flies.  Zesty, fresh and very easy drinking this is a great aperitif style of English fizz.

Black Cow Vodka Miniature

Black Cow vodka is made with the milk of cows that graze on the fields neighbouring the Black Cow Distillery in Dorset.  Not only is Black Cow the most delicious, creamy vodka one could hope to taste, it also has high eco credentials.  Made with the whey from cheese production, which is often thrown away, this wonderful spirit uses less water than grain based spirits and reduces CO2 emissions and the environmental impact of both cheese making and spirit production.

NV Blanc de Blancs, Langham Wine Estate, Dorset

Chardonnay

Following many ultra-successful vintage releases, the Langham Blanc de Blancs has switched to a non vintage blend following the 2018 vintage.  Made with 100% Chardonnay, 90% of which is from the 2020 vintage, and aged on the lees for three years, this is an energetic and wonderfully focussed Blanc de Blancs. The nose displays a tense balance between ripe green apple and conference pear with notes of white flowers and intense graphite minerality. The palate is delicate yet weighty in texture, with soft ripe pear, honeydew melon and white grapefruit acidity, finishing with a trademark saline nuttiness.

IWSC Sparkling Wine Producer of the year, Langham's Culver Classic Cuvée is a non vintage wine with the base vintage currently being 2022 with 14% reserve wine.   Red fruit heavy it is a blend of 43% Pinot Noir, 45% Pinot Meunier and 12% Chardonnay, displaying a rounded,quite rich and opulent style.

NV Rose Extra Brut, Langham Estate, Dorset

This complex Rosé NV is a blend of 59% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier, 36% Chardonnay, and is made from 82% base wine from 2019 and 18% reserve wine.  The wine offers aromas aplenty of cherry bakewell, pink lady apple skin, raspberry yoghurt & wild strawberries. The palate reflects this fresh red berry profile, but it is also more serious & has great depth. Cherry yoghurt, young wild strawberry & raspberry coulée bring the fruit profile to the forefront, whilst a more savoury & saline note rounds off the wine.

Viper Barrel Aged Gin, 50cl

This the latest release from Dorset based Avalon Distillery and it certainly has some bite!  Using barrels that have been used at The Somerset Cider Brandy Company, there is a distinct smokey edge to this full flavoured, powerful gin.  This is a must try for lovers of the Old Tom style.

Zummit Dry Gin Miniature, Shroton Fair Gin, Dorset, 5cl

Based a few miles from our shop, Shroton Fair Gin are relatively new to the market.  They distil 16 botanicals, uncludig Burdock Root, Rowan Berries and Linden Flowers, all crushed by hand, to make this complex, dry Gin that is smooth enough to be enjoyed neat over ice.  Such is the complexity of htis gin that the makers recommend that you don't serve it with a garnish, just over ice with (or without) a premium tonic of your choice.
