Vachnadziani was established in 1953and is one of the oldest wineries in Georgia. This lovely Cotes du Rhone is a blend of Stephane Ogier's Rasteau and Cairanne vineyard and displays the typical elegance all his wines posess. 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah make up the blend and provide a medium to full bodied wine that is packed with plummy, herbal tinged fruit and beautifully poised acidity. Although this is approachable now with a decent decant, waiting until 2026/2027 will pay dividends and the wine should drink beautifully through to 2033.

The result is a tantalising red that shows ripe black fruits, garrigue notes and a waft of spice on the long, satisfying finish.
