The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks.  The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles.  The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

The nose is youthful and exuberant and bursts with aromas of red fruits like wild strawberry, raspberry & grape. The palate surprises with its fresh, refined and mineral notes, freshened by crisp acidity and fine, elegant fizz. The fruity notes are complemented by subtle hints of violet and rose.
