2024 Vermentino di Sardegna Notteri, Cantina Castiadas

Vermentino

The Notteri is a terrific example of Vermentino di Sardegna. Made with free run juice that is fermented at cool temperatures before resting on it's fine lees for 60 days.  The result is a wine which shows an intense nose that is fresh with stone fruit and floral notes.  The palate is soft and dry with more intensity and finishing on a pleasing bitter note.  This elegant white is a terrific wine to be enjoyed with seafood, especially shellfish, and lighter mediterranean starters.

Dry, fresh and delicious!  Although very approachable in it's youth, the Beaumont Chenin, as with many other good South African Chenin Blancs, has teh ability to age for many years.  It's a great value wine to stock up on and see how it develops.
