Gin Distille Veuve Goudoulin

This Gin stands out for its superb blonde hints, due to ageing in oak barrels. The nose is wonderfully fresh and complex. The colour is a very light amber with slight olive highlights.  On the nose it is very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops gradually, like a slow burning log fire, never overpowering but always reassuring. A guest taster was reminded of marshmallows toasted on a campfire, crisp on the outside and sticky sweet in the middle!The palate is incredibly well balanced, rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves, like the soft billows of smoke from the kiln.To finish, gentle smoke lingers and lingers leaving you yearning for more!

Mil Demonios Semillon/Sauvignon Partida 2, Sin Reglas

The tiny plots of vines that make up the Mil Demonios Semillon/Sauvignon blend are microvinified in Amphora and then aged in tight grained oak prior to release.  This terrific white is precise and focussed with a wonderful vein of acidity running from start to finish.  The mid-palate shows a lovely weight to it that suggests the wine will age further and gain complexity as it does so.

Following many ultra-successful vintage releases, the Langham Blanc de Blancs has switched to a non vintage blend following the 2018 vintage.  Made with 100% Chardonnay, 90% of which is from the 2020 vintage, and aged on the lees for three years, this is an energetic and wonderfully focussed Blanc de Blancs. The nose displays a tense balance between ripe green apple and conference pear with notes of white flowers and intense graphite minerality. The palate is delicate yet weighty in texture, with soft ripe pear, honeydew melon and white grapefruit acidity, finishing with a trademark saline nuttiness.

Domaine du Landreau are 4th generation growers who produce a range of clean, crisp and expressive wines in the central Loire Valley.  The Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc grapes are hand harvested over several passages through the vineyard, ensuring the grapes are picked at their optimum ripeness.  A slow, cool ferment and 3 years lees ageing help this traditional method sparkling wine develop it's delicate floral, citrus and apple notes with nutty undertones.  Elegant on the finish with a creamy texture courtesy of the ageing make this a stunning value alternative to entry-level Champagnes.
