Description

Can do Sil is a wonderfully fresh, fruit led blend of Garnacha and Mencia produced from lightly macerated fruit from young vines. The ferment is made in stainless steel and the wine bottled after the spring equinox. It is a lightfooted, violet and blackberry infused wine with elements of mineral coolness. A refreshingly breezy and bright Spanish red with notes of sour cherry, raspberry, violets and sweet spice. It’s unoaked and very drinkable.

José Pato Oviedo, proud owner of Bodegas Carballal, is dedicated to producing wines that represent the region and is committed to trying to be among the finest bodegas in the valley. His cellars are spotless and his pride in what he has built up is fully warranted.  The vineyards are located around Petin, in the heart of Valdeorras located 50km east of Ourense on the river Sil, with its eastern border being with Castilla y Leon, and the area of Bierzo over the mountains.

50% Mencia 50% Garnacha

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
