Description

The Vermut Rojo, red vermouth is produced in the same way by Martínez Lacuesta since 1937. The Conzia – or extract, aromatic plants and herbs macerated cold in white wine – is aged in American oak barrels, and is added to the white wine with sugar, citric acid and alcohol.

The Barbadillo Finos are more Manzanilla-like in style, but are aged in Bodegas with less exposure to the cooling sea breezes. The flor in the barrels grows vigorously in these cellars so the wine is a little more nutty and toasty than the more appley and yeasty Manzanillas of Sanlucar.

The Vermut Negro Casa Mariol is an absolutely fabulous dark vermouth that is given extra depth and complexity by ageing through a solera system.   Follow the recipe painted on the bottle or substitute it for sweet vermouth in your favourite cocktail recipes.
