Chateau Saransot-Dupre is an excellently sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

2019 Chateau Treytins, Montagne Saint-Emilion

Merlot

Chateau Treytins are a little better known for their Lalande de Pomerol, but have been making wine in Montagne Saint Emilion since 1998.  This fruit forward and approachable claret is made with 90% Merlot with the remainder being Cabernet Franc and other varieties, and is fermented in stainless steel, followed by a long maceration and bottling after 18 months of ageing.  Fresh with elegant red fruit notes and delicate tannins.

The Corryton Burge Shiraz is a rich, soft and subtle Australian Shiraz showing deep ruby red with purple hues.  The nose has plenty of strawberry, raspberry and vanilla aromas. Richly fruited on the palate with forward characters of raspberry and plum alongside a soft toasty oak influence that enhances the vanilla and spice. Fournillon have 23 hectares of vines in Chablis in the cool, north of burgundy and are predominantly producers of classic, steely Chablis (see our fantastic value 'house' Chablis), but they also produce some red and this delicious cremant from 100% Pinot Noir.  All fruit is hand-harvested and vinified carefully to produce an easy drinking, fruit-forward fizz that is well balanced and nicely rounded with a fine mousse.  Excellent as an apertif.

Durif

The Growers Touch Durif by Mino And Co reveals a nose that is bursting with sweet berry fruits such as Mulberry and Blueberry backed up by vanillin tinged oak and coconut with hints of spice. The palate is typical Durif showing a complex mix of dark fruits and mulberry. The oak comes to the for on the finish to tie the lot together and compliments the tannin structure so typical of the variety.
