Description
The history of the Brachetto is steeped in legend and fascination. An antique drink that was mentioned for the first time during the Roman empire when writers described the customs of the ‘Gallia Cisalpina’ (Gaul, on this side of the Alpes), speaking of a sweet aromatic wine of Acqui Terme, very appreciated by the patricians.
The Brachetto is a semi-sparkling (frizzante) red sweet wine with a bright ruby colour. The nose is youthful and exuberant and bursts with aromas of red fruits like wild strawberry, raspberry & grape. The palate surprises with its fresh, refined and mineral notes. The crisp acidity and its fine fizz emphasiSe its elegance. The fruity notes are complemented by subtle hints of violet and rose.

2020 Cabernet Franc Seleccion, Bodegas Rio Del Elorza, Mendoza
Cabernet Franc
The Verum Cabernet Franc Seleccion, Bodegas Rio Del Elorza has classic elements on the nose including wild strawberry, blackberry, pencil shavings and a hint of blackcurrant leaf. Lovely ripe fruits with a hint of stalky/vegetal character but not too much greenness, instead offering more body and depth of fruit and a slight touch of herbal mint. The full-bodied palate is elegant with firm tannins but a vital balancing acidity. Cedar notes show from the use of French oak and the finish is dominated by bright red fruit and mocha spice.

2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
