This terrific red comes from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Valtellina Superiore area in the districts of Berbenno, Sondrio, Montagna e Teglio, between 350 and 500 metres above sea level. The best quality grapes are dried for 2 months in the “fruttaio”, a ventilated area on the top floor of the CasaClima Wine cellar.

Barbaresco DOCG is produced every year from the 100 hectares of vineyards controlled by the Produttori within the appellation, mainly in the Barbaresco village itself. In the best vintages, when the quality of the grapes is great everywhere, the historical crus are vinified separately and Barbaresco is then produced with the grapes from the remaining vineyards.

With a winery located in the steep hills of Mango in Gramella, the Tintero family has been tending grapevines in the appellations of Moscato d'Asti and Langhe for four generations. The estate is run by third-generation Marco and his partner, Cinzia. Cantine Tintero really began to establish itself after WW2, when brothers Giovanni and Carlo began selling Moscato grapes to local drinks giants, Cinzano and Martini (while making their own wines for local consumption).

‘Campi Raudii’ is one of the ancient latin names for Alto Piemonte, which roughly translates as ‘red fields’ referring to the typical colour of the volcanic soils.  It is fermented and then matured in concrete vats and is intended as a young, approachable expression of Nebbiolo.
