Description
Kurtatsch Kellerei Cantina is a medium sized co-operative with 190 members working 190 hectares in Alto Adige DOC in North East Italy that has been in existence for over a 100 years. The Schiava Sonntaler vines are between 60 and 90 years old with low yields but excellent quality fruit.
This is a cracking red which is both light but packed with flavour. Superb growing conditions, old vines and traditional ageing in large slavonian wooden barrels combine to give a wine with complex aromas of raspberries, wild strawberries, cherries, pomegranate and redcurrants. Elegant, fine-grained tannins are well-balanced on the long finish.
