Chasselas

This is a delicious, more'ish white made mainly from Chasselas, the grape variety which is typical to the Canton of Vaud. Yves and Antoine de Mestral like to play around with it, making wine several different styles, of which this was our favourite.  Quite classic in style for Chasselas with a lovely balance of the creamy, fruity, floral and mineral palate. Rich and complex, this is a perfect wine to sip on its own, enjoy with fish and seafood.

Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio

The Kumeu Village Pinot Gris is an utterly delicious example of the grape.  Lively stone fruit and exotic notes on the nose and palate with a beautiful texture that adds weight without detracting from the purity and freshness of fruit.  This is lovely to drink on it's own but also a stellar match to a number of dishes, including spicy foods.

NV Grande Reserve, Champagne Gosset, Ay

Champagne Blend

This cuvée has a bright and golden colour. The nose is dominated by the freshness and the fruit. The Chardonnay brings finesse sustained by notes of yellow fruits such as peach and Mirabelle plum. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and generous. The Pinot Noir of Ay gives its structure. Hawthorn and white flowers merge naturally. Acidity is expressed by citrus fruits.

Perfectly sited on protected, south-facing, chalk soils, the D'Urberville vineyard produces perfectly ripe grapes for exuberant, fruit led English sparkling wines.  We are proud to represent them and love the fact that it is less than a mile from the shop as the crow flies.  Zesty, fresh and very easy drinking this is a great aperitif style of English fizz.
