2023 The Tin Mine White, Zevenwacht, Stellenbosch

Chenin Blanc

The Zevenwacht Tin Mine White is a stunning blend of Chenin, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier and Semillon, coming from vineyards planted on decomposed granite soils which lie between 200 and 350m above sea level.  Ageing in 500 litre French oak barrels helps add to the wonderful texture without detracting from the impeccably integrated exotic, spicey fruit and lively yet balanced acidity.

The Cotes Du Rhone Reserve Blanc from Domaine Grand Veneur is a superb value white. It is a blend of Roussanne, Viognier and Clairette and been a regular feature of our list for several vintages thanks to it's wonderful balance of delicate floral aromatics, peach and stone fruit flavours and balanced fresh acidity.

2017 Estate Furmint, Istvan Szepsy, Tokaji

Furmint

The Szepsy family has been producing Tokaj wines since the 1500s, with the aim of producing the best grapespossible without compromise. The estate is comprised of 50 hectares of vines, that are forty years of age on average, planted on steep slopes at high altitude on a rocky volcanic soil that is considered to be the single, most complex soil composition.
