Description

The 2020 Diamantopetra Vidiano/Assyrtiko is a bright, pale yellow in the glass. The aroma is elegant with flavours of pineapple, apricot and chamomile which are combined elaborately with vanilla, nuts and oak. In the mouth, full bodied with crisp acidity that integrates nicely allowing the fruit to be properly expressed. The finish is long as leaving you a wonderful aftertaste with apricot and vanilla hints.

The Diamantakis winery was only founded in 2007 but has quickly become a hit having scooped multiple awards for their wines, most notably this terrific blend of 50% Assytriko and 50% Vidiano.  The wine is fermented in stainless steel and then aged for 3 months in a mixture of French (80%) and American (20%) Oak.  Both varieties shine in this accomplished blend with the Vidiano bringing aromatic complexity and Assyrtiko adding saline freshness and acidity.

Chenin Blanc

Produced from several vineyards with Silex (flint) soils, this delicious Vouvray is pale yellow with a very reserved nose. The palate is dominated by minerals, with citrus, apple and lemon peel fruit. Floral aromas balance out the minerality with some lovely balanced acidity coming through on the finish.

Bordeaux Blend

A delicious, crisp, fresh white Bordeaux. The 2020 vintage was very warm and  has given this wine extra depth with classic green fruits being joined by some almost tropical notes, the whole is quite a weighty wine with subtle herbaceous notes. Great with fish, goats cheese, asparagus.
