Castello Romitorio is situated in a wild part of Montalcino with a microclimate of less sunny slopes and cooler average temperatures than the rest of the region. The vineyards circle the Castle, on slopes which run parallel to the slopes of Montalcino.
This is a bold super Tuscan that perfectly illustrates that French varietals can thrive in Tuscany and give exceptional quality, whilst retaining an undeniably Tuscan character. This elegant blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot is well-structured and fruit forward showing morello cherry and plum characters integrated with vanilla and mocha and fine grained tannins.
