The Villa Wolf Gewurztraminer is clear, fruity and wonderfully light. It shows the aromatic charm typical of the grape with a delicious juicy texture and a delicate aroma of spices, exotic fruits and fresh roses. 2021/22 Cremant de Bourgogne Brut, Domaine Fournillon

Pinot Noir

Fournillon have 23 hectares of vines in Chablis in the cool, north of burgundy and are predominantly producers of classic, steely Chablis (see our fantastic value 'house' Chablis), but they also produce some red and this delicious cremant from 100% Pinot Noir.  All fruit is hand-harvested and vinified carefully to produce an easy drinking, fruit-forward fizz that is well balanced and nicely rounded with a fine mousse.  Excellent as an apertif.

2022/23 Carte d’Or, Baumard, AC Coteaux du Layon, Half Bottle

Chenin Blanc

The Carte d'Or Coteaux du Layon from Baumard has a very attractive honeyed nose, with lifted yellow fruits and more golden tropical elements such as mango, guava and pineapple. It has a particularly tropical character and a very fresh feel on the palate, with steely minerality and a zippy background acidity giving invigorating tartness to keep the wine luscious and buoyant. The rounded, approachable finish has good length.
