The Thorle Grauburgunder has a creamy texture yet is very fresh with a distinct underlying mineral character which is a true reflection of the grape and the rocky soils in which it is grown.
Christoph and his brother Johannes have worked together since 2006 when they left their jobs to take over the family domaine in Saulheim, a little village inland from Oppenheim and the mighty Rhine. The vineyards lie on a mixture of light clay, limestone red sandy loam and in places flint and schist. All vineyard management is now undertaken organically with a move to biodynamic imminent.

Fournillon have 23 hectares of vines in Chablis in the cool, north of burgundy and are predominantly producers of classic, steely Chablis (see our fantastic value 'house' Chablis), but they also produce some red and this delicious cremant from 100% Pinot Noir. The Hanewald-Schwerdt Riesling Sekt Trocken has a steely lemon tinged nose with red apple and peach underpinned by zesty lime acidity, resulting in a lovely refreshing style. This is by no means bone dry though, and with 23grams of residual sugar this a fruitier style that is a great alternative to Prosecco for those looking for something a little different.

Chenin Blanc
Produced from several vineyards with Silex (flint) soils, this delicious Vouvray is pale yellow with a very reserved nose. The palate is dominated by minerals, with citrus, apple and lemon peel fruit. Floral aromas balance out the minerality with some lovely balanced acidity coming through on the finish.
