Description

The 50 & 50 is a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese and has a deep, ruby red color, producing aromas of red berry fruits and black cherries which intertwine with scents of sweet tobacco and mediterranean herbs. The flavour is rich, enveloping and long lingering with lots of ripe fruit and warm notes of baking spices.

The friendship of 50&50 binds the owners of Avignonesi in Montepulciano and Capannelle in Chianti Classico, and their common desire to strive for excellency with their wines. It is a wine which embodies the distinction of two historic wine producing areas of Tuscany, artfully woven together in a unique expression of double terroir, comprising of galestro rich soil from Gaiole in Chianti and the clay-rich soil of Montepulciano.

The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.

Petit Verdot

The Romitorio is a bold super Tuscan that perfectly illustrates that French varietals can thrive in Tuscany and give exceptional quality, whilst retaining an undeniably Tuscan character.  This elegant blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot is well-structured and fruit forward showing morello cherry and plum characters integrated with vanilla and mocha and fine grained tannins.
