Description
The Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 is an Aussie classic and comes from a winery that is regarded as one of the country’s finest. The Dry Red No.1 is a Bordeaux style blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 12% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot, all of which are hand harvested, and hand sorted to ensure only the finest berries make the final blend. The Cabernet is crushed prior to fermentation whilst the other varieties are fermented whole and all are vinified seperately. The wines are then matured seperately in French Oak (40-50% new), and blended prior to bottling.
Medium-bodied, complex and yet approachable with lovely freshenss. Dark fruits, baking spice and herbal notes on the nose lead to a beautifully balanced palate that shows more of the same alongside fleshy, fresh acidity. Genuinely joyful to drink now, this fabulous red will continue to evolve for 20+ years from vintage.

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. 2023 Julienas ‘Bois de la Salle’, Cave Julienas-Chaintre

The grapes for this medium weight, fruit led Julienas are hand harvested and left in tank for 10 days to macerate in order to optimise the colour and aroma of the wine. Fermentation takes place at a warm 27/28 degrees centigrade and maturation follows until March when the wine is bottled.An intense, purple colour. Fruity aromas dominated by fragrant raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. Round, supple and rich yet balanced by a lingering freshness on the finish.
