The Corryton Burge Shiraz is a rich, soft and subtle Australian Shiraz showing deep ruby red with purple hues.  The nose has plenty of strawberry, raspberry and vanilla aromas. Richly fruited on the palate with forward characters of raspberry and plum alongside a soft toasty oak influence that enhances the vanilla and spice. Subtle tannins leave the palate quite moreish and a delight to keep coming back to.

2018 Solita Nebbiolo, Chris Ringland, Barossa

Nebbiolo

The Solita Nebbiolo is made from the oldest Nebbiolo vines in South Australia, planted on North East facing slopes.  This age-worthy red wine displays the typical characteristics of the grape one would find in Piedmont, yet it wears an Aussie overcoat.  Silky and scented with rose petal, sour cherry and floral notes, the palate shows impeccable balance with beautifully integrated alcohol and silky yet drying tannins.  Delicious after a decent decant, this terrific example of Nebbiolo from one of the very best Barossa producers will reward careful ageing and the wine should happily evolve for decades to come.

The Stand & Deliver Shiraz is a BIG wine, packing in tons of dark berry fruit and spice as one would expect from an Aussie Shiraz, yet coming from one of the highest vineyards (510m) in the Clare Valley there is also some decent acidity and freshness. If you like big, bold and rich wines then this is definitely for you!  100% Shiraz fermented with wild yeasts in open top fermenters, with 21 months in oak has produced a blockbuster wine which has great ageing potential.

2018 Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1, Yarra Valley

Bordeaux Blend

The Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 is an Aussie classic and comes from a winery that is regarded as one of the country's finest.  The Dry Red No.1 is a Bordeaux style blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 12% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot, all of which are hand harvested, and hand sorted to ensure only the finest berries make the final blend.  The Cabernet is crushed prior to fermentation whilst the other varieties are fermented whole and all are vinified seperately.  The wines are then matured seperately in French Oak (40-50% new), and blended prior to bottling.

The Terra Mae red blend from Stanton and Killeen is an hommage to Portuguese varieties.  Made from a blend of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cao, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional, this delicious red wine immediately puts one in the mind of Portugal before Australia.  Up front aromas of red berry mix with cedar and cinnamon wood spices. The palate provides a seamless blend of the four Iberian varieties, with notes of plums, cherries and a little milk chocolate on the finish. Soft tannins are balanced with the medium bodied fruit weight on the long finish.

Amato Vino take a very hands-off approach to winemaking, in favour of wild fermentation, minimal intervention during the winemaking process and gentle handling.  Their wines are unfined and unfiltered and represent a different side to Margaret River than one might expect.  The delicious Amato Rosso is made from the unusual blend of Teroldego, Primitivo, Cabernet and Chenin Blanc and is bright and juicy with Maraschino Cherry and Raspberry fruit balanced with delightful, lifted acidity.  Easy going, fresh and almost dangerously drinkable, this wonderful red is a welcome addition to our list and sure to become a staff favourite before too long!

The Growers Touch Durif by Mino And Co reveals a nose that is bursting with sweet berry fruits such as Mulberry and Blueberry backed up by vanillin tinged oak and coconut with hints of spice. On the palate there's bright red mouthfilling fruit with undertones of savoury dusty dark berry fruits and spice.

Well balanced through to the finish, this drinks really well now, but will cellar nicely for 5 years or so.

Here's something you don't come across everyday...a Nebbiolo/Cabernet blend that is fermented and aged in concrete egg.  The choice of fermentation vessel aids circulation during teh ferment which imparts depth, volume and texture to the resultant wine.  This fabulous wine not only has a cool, egg-shaped label, but drinks beautifully - showing bright acidity and a lovely balance between sweet blackcurrant fruit and something altogether more savoury and herbal. The finish is clean and multi-layered.
