Description

Moorooduc was established in 1982 by Richard and Jill McIntyre. Moorooduc is a small, family run wine business that has built an enviable reputation for complex and food friendly wines.

The philosophy here is to use top quality fruit that is produced by intensive, hands on work in the vineyard and minimal use of chemicals. The wines are then fermented using wild yeasts and minimal intervention to allow them to express the character of their individual sites. Moorooduc is rightly regarded as one of the leading lights in Mornington and one of the finest Pinot Noir producers in Australia.

2021 Cranswick Shiraz, South Australia

Syrah/Shiraz

The Cranswick Shiraz is hugely popular wine for us. The accent is on spices with focused fruit, dark berries with earthy aromas. The palate displays ripe blackberries and spice followed by savoury overtones, all supported by a deft touch of oak from 12 months maturation. Soft tannins round off a precise and well-made Shiraz.

Stand and Deliver Shiraz Jeanneret.JPG

2018 Stand & Deliver Shiraz, Jeanneret, Clare Valley

Syrah/Shiraz

The Stand & Deliver Shiraz is a BIG wine, packing in tons of dark berry fruit and spice as one would expect from an Aussie Shiraz, yet coming from one of the highest vineyards (510m) in the Clare Valley there is also some decent acidity and freshness. If you like big, bold and rich wines then this is definitely for you!  100% Shiraz fermented with wild yeasts in open top fermenters, with 21 months in oak has produced a blockbuster wine which has great ageing potential.

Amato Vino Rosso.JPG

2022 Amato Rosso, Amato Vino, Margaret River

Red Blend

Amato Vino take a very hands-off approach to winemaking, in favour of wild fermentation, minimal intervention during the winemaking process and gentle handling.  Their wines are unfined and unfiltered and represent a different side to Margaret River than one might expect.  The delicious Amato Rosso is made from the unusual blend of Teroldego, Primitivo, Cabernet and Chenin Blanc and is bright and juicy with Maraschino Cherry and Raspberry fruit balanced with delightful, lifted acidity.  Easy going, fresh and almost dangerously drinkable, this wonderful red is a welcome addition to our list and sure to become a staff favourite before too long!
