The 2024 Secateurs Red Blend by AA Badenhorst has to be amongst the best he's made.  Adi bought a neighbouring farm that he used to buy grapes from but now has pick of the crop for himself.  There's a hgher proportion of Cabernet in this release than usual, adding more cassis and dark fruit flavours to the mineral tinged spice of the Shiraz. Fuller than normal too, but by no means less approachable, with juicy tannins and terrific balance.

The Wolftrap Red is a blend of Syrah and Mouvedre with just a dash of Viognier.  This opulent red is always great value, giving lots of ripe dark fruits mingled with touches of cardamon, clove and black pepper spice.  Perfumed bramble, blackberry and liquorice flavours intertwine with a more savoury edge on the silky palate.  Well-balanced with whiffs of oak on the finish make for a hugely enjoyable wine.

The Wolftrap White has a nose that is bold, intense, and rich with stone fruit aromas of peach, nectarine and yellow plum as well as gentle whiffs of angelica, spice, and fresh ginger. The Vallisto Torrontes is a fabulous example of this intriguing and highly aromatic white grape.  Made from 70 year old vines grown between 1700 and 2000 metres above sea level, the Vallisto Torrontes shows the distinctive exotic aromas jasmine, orange blossom and peach on the nose with a lively, zippy palate that is dry and fresh with mouth-watering acidity on the finish.  A lovely aperitif if you can handle the aromatics, but even better with food, especially spicier dishes like Thai curries.
