Description
The ‘Long Bec’ Touraine Chenonceaux is a delicous, soft and complex Sauvignon Blanc from a relatively new appellation in the Loire Valley. Produced by Domaine des Echardieres, this is a wonderfully aromatic Sauvignon with apricot and blackcurrant leaf on the nose and soft, exotic fruits on the palate.
The Touraine Chenonceaux appellation was created in 2011 for the best vineyards sites spread across the 27 communes on both sides of the Cher. It encompasses both red and whites and controls both yields and release dates, with the whites only allowed to be released after 1st May following harvest. In theory this allows for more time on lees and therefore added depth and complexity for the whites.

2019 Bordeaux Blanc Sec, Chateau Saransot-Dupre
Semillon/Sauvignon
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
