Description

The Navajas Rioja Tinto Sin shows a beautifully perfumed, violet scented nose with hints of clove and spice and a medium bodied, juicy palate. Extremely drinkable and a great all-rounder.

Founded in 1918, Bodegas Navajas is a family-owned winery in the village of Navarrete, Rioja Alta. They own 30 hectares of their own vineyards and work closely with a further network of small growers in order to produce 2 million bottles a year.

The Gonzo Combat Rouge is a rather unusual field blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Viognier which are co-fermented with whole bunch fermentation.  The results is a beautifully supple yet plush and ripe red wine with sweet, spicy raspberry and cherry fruit. We've found it drinks best slightly chilled on a warm evening.
