Description
The La Delizia Friuli Merlot is a terrific little wine and a wonderful example of fresh, easy-drinking northern Italian Merlot. All stainless steel fermentation and ageing ensures that the oak doesn’t mask the clean, medium bodied herb tinged red fruits. Well balanced and warming on the finish, this is a great all rounder and perfect for that midweek bowl of pasta!
Established in 1931 as Cantina Sociale Cooperativa Destra Tagliamento, the company Viticoltori Friulani La Delizia is the largest wine-making facility of the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia. The cooperative combines more than 500 wine growers with 2000 hectares of vineyards that extend throughout the Friuli plain, allowing for wide range of styles to be made. Merlot has settled particularly well in this part of Italy and is extremely popular with the locals.
