Description

Clos Cibonne produce some of the most beguiling Rosés in the Languedoc using the ancient Tibouren grape variety, aledgedy Julius Caesar’s favourite grape.  This special wine is made to honour the founder of Clos Cibonne, Marius Roux, and is a serious step up from their already seriously good Tradition Rosé.

Pinky/Orange in the glass this complex wine is definitely one for food and not your typical Provence style.  Full bodied and rather unctuous, with a complex fruit character including blood orange, peach, apricot and grapefruit mingling with distinct herbal notes.  There is also some wonderful salinity and freshness to the wine which comes through after some breathing.

The nose is clearly marked by the strawberries both the fresh fruit and as jam. Wild red cherry, redcurrant and with a hint of grapefruit dominate the palate. The mouth is well structured with a constant tension between freshness and a fruity roundness.

Dark Rose or Pale Red?  When wine tastes this good you shouldn't waste time worrying about the colour!  Wild strawberries, Pomegranate and refreshing cranberry fruit dominate the nose along with subtle herbal notes.  The palate is textured yet fresh with a lovely balance of fruit and freshness that finishes on crunchy red berries.

NV Rose Extra Brut, Langham Estate, Dorset

Champagne Blend

This complex Rosé NV is a blend of 15% Pinot Noir, 16% Pinot Meunier, 69% Chardonnay, with the current release made from base wine from 2020.  The wine offers aromas aplenty of cherry bakewell, pink lady apple skin, raspberry yoghurt & wild strawberries. The palate reflects this fresh red berry profile, but it is also more serious & has great depth. Cherry yoghurt, young wild strawberry & raspberry coulée bring the fruit profile to the forefront, whilst a more savoury & saline note rounds off the wine.
