The 2017 Rioja Crianza, Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta is a generous, well-structured rioja has a lovely deep black-cherry colour, up front fruit and well-integrated oak which leads to an elegant finish. A perfect match for grilled red meat, game or mature cheeses.

Martinez Lacuesta has 66 hectares of vineyards just for reds, with this being at an altitude of  between 478 and 559 metres above sea level. All of the red wine vineyards are around the Bodega in Haro, with the most important vineyards in Villalba de Rioja, Villarica in San Asensio and  Finca la Platera in Haro. The high altitude, south facing vineyards provide perfect growing conditions.

The 2019 Finca Resalso, Emilio Moro wine is deep cherry red in colour with a violet rim. It is honest, intense and very expressive on the nose. The primary aromas of Tempranillo, such as blackberry and blackcurrant, stand out. It is well-structured in the mouth with mellow tannins and well-balanced acidity.

Gamay

Château Grange Cochard lies in the heart of the Morgon Appelation on granitic, shaly slopes and has been crafting classic wines from their superbly sited vineyards since the 18th Century.   The 'Les Charmes' is one of the favoured 'lieu-dits' of Morgon and winemaking is traditional, with hand harvested fruit fermented carefully in the semi-carbonic maceration method with half being whole bunches and half de-stemmed fruit.  Maturation is in a mixture of vat and cask and sulphur addition low.
