Description
The Graham’s 2000 Vintage Port is a typically rich and full style that was clearly one of the ports of the vintage. It is destined to live for a very long time indeed yet is approachable in it’s youth, and therefore one to snap up whilst you can as they are only getting rarer and rarer. Here’s a few critics thoughts and scores from different times in it’s development:
Smells like freshly picked orchids, with loads of ripe, clean fruit. Full-bodied, medium sweet and very powerful and racy. It lasts for minutes on your palate. Yet there’s a balance and class to this young Vintage Port. This is the greatest glass of Graham I have ever tasted, young or old. Best after 2014. 9,000 cases made.
98/100 – James Suckling, Wine Spectator Weekly, May 2003
Dark crimson with a slightly weak rim. Rich, slightly volatile, evolved nose. Polished and dense and explosive. Interesting contrast with Noval 2000. More of a Fonseca style in its opulence. Lots of fun! Great richness. I would love to discover this in fact comes from somewhere other than Portugal! Complete. Drink 2015-2040.
18.5/20 – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, December 2012
So young! Hardly any signs of bottle age here, with the primary red fruit still going full throttle. Brilliantly balanced. Super-rich and thick. Most likely immortal. Drink 2020-2068.
