The delightful Rutherglen Muscat from Stanton & Killeen shows a light amber colour in the glass.  The nose is packed with expressive floral notes of crushed rose petal, lavender and orange blossom.  The sweet yet balanced palate is rich and silky smooth with raisin characteristics and Turkish delight leading to a long, lingering finish.  This is the youngest and freshest tier of the four classifications: Rutherglen, Classic, Grand and Rare and absolute delight.

NV Soleria Fortified Torrontes, Malamado, Maipu/Santa Rosa

Torrontes

The Soleria Fortified Torrontes is made with late harvested Torrontes grapes that are fortified with a Torrontes based grape brandy when the sweetness levels hit 221 grams per litre of sugar during fermentation.  The wine is then aged in 4th use oak barrels previously used for Zuccardi's high end Chardonnay for 40 months.

Verdelho

This blend of 80% Tinta Negra and 20% Verdelho is aged in cask for 5 years naturally, without the addition of caramel and is designed to mimic the 'Rainwater Style' of Madeira. The origins of this style are ambiguous, (depending on who you speak to), but it is thought to derive from when the barrels were left outside and the wine inside took on a particular characteristic having been lashed by the Atlantic rains.  What we can be certain of is that this is a stunning style medium dry Madeira that has complex flavours of almonds, caramel, nuts and candied fruits.  The finish is long and balanced with terrific acidity.
